NIGER DELTA BEYOND OIL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE (NDBOIC) 2026 SECURES SUPPORT FROM PORT HARCOURT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, INDUSTRIES MINES AND AGRICULTURE (PHCCIMA)

The Niger Delta Beyond Oil International Conference (NDBOIC) 2026 project has secured the support of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Industries Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) over the hosting of the conference at Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State. This development took place during the official Courtesy Visit to the management of PHCCIMA by the Planning Committee of the maiden edition of the conference. The NDBOIC 2026 project planning committee delegation which was led by Prof. John Kalama, the Chairman of the Planning Committee and his team met with the President of PHCCIMA and her management at their office at Waterlines House, Port Harcourt Rivers State on Tuesday 20th January, 2026 to solicit for collaboration, partnership and support to actualize the successful hosting of the event as scheduled. IZONFEST CANOE RACE CLUB HOLDS 2026 CANOE RACE EXHIBITION AT KING ABRAHAM FARMS (KAF), IGBOGENE-YENAGOA, BAYELSA STATE

As part of events marking the new year the IzonFest Development Foundation inc. held her 2026 CANOE RACE EXHIBITION at the waterfront of King Abraham Farms (KAF), Igbogene-Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.  The event which took place on the 1st of January 2026 saw enthusiastic participants competing for prizes and consolation rewards in a very keenly contested competition. The prizes which were set as 1st Prize - 15,000, 2nd Prize - 10,000 and 3rd Prize - 5000, with popular Niger Delta cuisine Bole (Roasted plantain), Roasted Fish and Fresh Palmwine as consolation prizes. The races were divided into three categories such as SINGLE DASH RACE, DOUBLE DASH RACE AND DOUBLE OBSTACLE COURSE RACE regulated with timer stop watches by the judges and referees, with support from the linesmen, with the participants with the lowest time record emerging the winners. PMAN BAYELSA STATE JULY CONGRESS

As part of activities marking the June, 2025 Congress of the Performing Musicians Employers' Association of Nigeria (PMAN) Bayelsa State Chapter, the Governor,  Comr Tuebi Sapere-Obi aka OldBoss on thursday 12 June, 2025 at the union's Congress meeting which held at TEOET Island Resort Okutukutu appointed 5 out of the 8 LGA Coordinators.  While handing over to them their appointment letter, the PMAN Governor also told them  his vision is to take the PMAN conversation down to the grassroots which is the most important areas if we must get it right. MAN ABANDONS THREE CHILDREN OF ABOUT 9, 6 AND 4 YEARS IN GUEST HOUSE IN YENAGOA

A man identified as Mr. Chinedu Amaobi has disappeared from a guest house in Yenagoa, abandoning his three children in the lodge where he lodged for about 7 days.  According to the owner of the guest house, Mr. Chinedu had lodged with his 3 children after he arrived in a tricycle sometime around 29th of March, 2025. According to the management of the guest house, the man usual leaves his children in the room during the day and goes out as a commercial tricycle operator and returns with food and other supplies in the evenings for the first four days. He also sends the daily rental through his oldest daughter of about nine (9) years to the counter clerk to renew the rent.  According to the hotel management, trouble started when the rent was not renewed on the fifth day but the children were still seen around without their father. DETAINED AYAMASA YOUTHS - POLICE DEMAND N5M TO FACILITATE BAIL, AFTER OVER 40 DAYS BEHIND BARS

The lawyer to the detained Ayamasa Community Youth Presidential aspirants have hinted that the Admin Officer (A.O.) to the Operation Restore Hope department of the Nigeria Police Force Bayelsa State Command, Mr. Clement Akpo informed him that the relatives of the suspects should provide the sum of Five Million Naira (N5,000,000.00) to facilitate the bail process of the 4 persons still in custody. Citing the figure as outrageous, the lawyer when confronted by our correspondent stated that he does not understand the rational behind the demand, because bail is free and the offences alleged against his Clients are bailable.  The lawyer equally said he has told the suspects to remain calm and rest assured that they will be released soon.
