PMAN BAYELSA STATE CHAPTER COURTESY VISIT TO TRADE UNION CONGRESS BAYELSA STATE CHAPTER AHEAD OF THE PMAN BAYELSA STATE CHAPTER SUMMIT 2026

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF PMAN BAYELSA STATE CHAPTER DURING THE COURTESY VISIT TO TRADE UNION CONGRESS (TUC), BAYELSA STATE CHAPTER.
The meeting started after an Opening Prayer was taken.
A brief introduction of members present was done from both sides.
The TUC Chariman Opened the discussion by welcoming the PMAN delegation and reflecting on the letter seeking the courtesy visit and asked that the PMAN delegation to unveil their mission and objectives.
The Governor of PMAN BAYELSA STATE CHAPTER introduced his executive council and did an appraisal about how this journey began as the leadership of PMAN BAYELSA STATE CHAPTER in February, 2025 and how far so far. 
The TUC Chairman observed that PMAN is an association and not a Union. But the positions was debatable because the association is registered as a trade union.
The Governor continued by saying he appreciated the observation and also went ahead to State that he seeks guidance and direction on the way forward to enable him lead the organization to amiable heights in the state.
He also referred to the upcoming PMAN BAYELSA STATE CHAPTER SUMMIT 2026 and seeks support.
Comrade Bannerman, a stakeholder added that we also seek to be officially affiliated to the TUC Bayelsa State Chapter.
In his response, the Chairman of TUC Bayelsa State Chapter noted that he has understood the requests and in addressing the issue of affiliation, he said it should start with the National Leadership of PMAN, which will conclude the procedure and notify the state officers, which will do the needful.
He said the state executive council of TUC Bayelsa State will go through the documents and recommend accordingly, but he suggested that the State executives should write to the Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, copy the TUC, and the Director of Trades in the Ministry. The Association should also speak to the Head of Service. They also suggest partnering with SA entertainment. The Governor and Secretary would be allowed to attend the TUC meetings.
He also pointed that May Day 2026 is a must for all affiliates to join the preparation. He said it is the practice of the TUC to receive a letter of introduction from National leadership, but it has not received a letter, but we can develop in the state by paying courtesy call to the relevant stakeholders. 
In Response to the recommendations and suggestions, the PMAN BAYELSA STATE CHAPTER body through the legal adviser appreciated the well articulated response and observations made by the TUC Bayelsa State Council executives and promised to look into each point raised with a view to aligning with the state protocols. He also noted the zeal to support the PMAN Exco and promised not to disappoint the members of PMAN BAYELSA STATE and other statkejolders in the piloting of the activities of the association under the current leadership and lay solid foundation for subsequent leaders of the organization to follow.
The TUC PRO gave the vote of thanks and rounded up the meeting with a closing prayer. After which the photo session was done.
