SNDIC 2026: STAKEHOLDERS ENDORSE SUSTAINABLE NIGER DELTA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 2026

The list of stakeholders who have endorsed the Sustainable Niger Delta International Conference 2026 project being organized by the Center for Niger Delta Studies and Sustainability (CNDSS), Federal University Otuoke (FUO), Otuoke - Ogbia, Bayelsa State coming up from 28 - 30 October, 2026 at the Seth Accra Jaja Post Graduate Conference Hall of Federal University Otuoke (FUO), Ogbia Bayelsa State is rising daily,  even as the project is organized under the distinguished chairmanship of His Excellency, Amb. (Dr.) Boladei Goodknows Igali, who is a technocrat and committed Niger Deltan.

The project seeks to gather stakeholders from the Niger Delta region into a round table discussion on the possibility of developing a 50-year Sustainable Niger Delta Development Agenda, and is focused on preparing a blueprint and framework for the Niger Delta regional integration for development and inclusive prosperity.

The theme of the conference is " Beyond Oil: REIMAGING THE NIGER DELTA FOR A JUST, GREEN AND PROSPEROUS FUTURE", and is hoping to galvanize support for an all-inclusive Sustainable Niger Delta Development plan beyond the oil and gas revenues, that would transform the region into a vibrant independent economy that considers the people, environment and economic diversity through tapping into the present oil and gas wealth to build a sustainable Niger Delta that can stand the test of time even after the oil and gas economy is over or losses it's relevance in the face of emerging energy alternatives.

Among the expected high points of this project is the signing a Niger Delta Development Charter 2026 which will symbolize the commitment to regional development, and also set up the Sustainable Niger Delta Development Board (SNDDB) a framework which will serve as a platform for regional integration where stakeholders from the Niger Delta can meet to discuss and decide issues affecting the development of the Niger Delta region and also drive the implementation of the 50 year Niger Delta Development Agenda. 
The SNDDB seems to be the first Niger Delta institution when setup, that is purely initiated and driven by Niger Deltans to address the developmental issues and challenges bothering the region, with a view to proferring real-time solutions.
The SNDDB will serve as the launch pad to engage further and ensure subsequent conferences are organized for monitoring and evaluation and outcomes are followed through after this maiden SNDIC 2026.

Stakeholders such as His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck E. Jonathan GCFR the former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have since identified with the project as a laudable initiative by the Federal University Otuoke through the Centre for Niger Delta Studies and Sustainability (CNDSS), and has promised to attend the event, especially as it is being hosted at his community, Otuoke in Bayelsa State. Also Gov. (Dr.) Siminalaye Fubara, Executive Governor of Rivers State has expressed his desire to be part of the event. His Royal Majesty, King Bubaraye Dakolo (Agada IV),
Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom in Bayelsa State, Nigeria and Chairman, Bayelsa State Council of Traditional Rulers has thrown his wait behind the successful hosting of the event and has taken it upon himself to invite other Governors, Traditional Rulers and Stakeholders to attend the conference.
The Vice Chancellor, of Federal University Otuoke Prof. Promise Mebine is also calling on politicians, academics and business leaders to identify with this conference initiative and ensure that the vision is achieved, as the project opens up new vista of opportunities for the region and a fresh frontier for our collective development.

Reports reaching the media department of Rural People's Assembly Inc. news desk this Monday 14th of Sept. 2026 has it that there is an on-going attempt to cover up the investigation reports of the criminal allegations regarding the recovery of the RAV4 mini jeep belonging to one Mr. Abidde Daniel, a businessman residing in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State which was reported missing in February, 2026.  According to Mr. Abidde Daniel Oyinkuro, he gave the car to a dealer whom he had bought the vehicle from, whom he identified as Mr. Collins in January 2026, with a view to reselling the vehicle with hope of buying another one.  He said, a few days later Mr. Collins reported that the car was stolen at his residence on 23rd February 2026 when he moved it there for safe keeping till a buyer is found. NIGER DELTA BEYOND OIL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE (NDBOIC) 2026 SECURES SUPPORT FROM PORT HARCOURT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, INDUSTRIES MINES AND AGRICULTURE (PHCCIMA)

The Niger Delta Beyond Oil International Conference (NDBOIC) 2026 project has secured the support of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Industries Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) over the hosting of the conference at Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State. This development took place during the official Courtesy Visit to the management of PHCCIMA by the Planning Committee of the maiden edition of the conference. The NDBOIC 2026 project planning committee delegation which was led by Prof. John Kalama, the Chairman of the Planning Committee and his team met with the President of PHCCIMA and her management at their office at Waterlines House, Port Harcourt Rivers State on Tuesday 20th January, 2026 to solicit for collaboration, partnership and support to actualize the successful hosting of the event as scheduled.
