  RURAL PEOPLE'S ASSEMBLY CONDEMNS THE WANTON AND ILLEGAL ACT OF DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY AND MEANS OF LIVELIHOOD OF TRADERS IN SWALI MARKET BY THE BAYELSA STATE GOVERNMENT WITHOUT AN ORDER OF COURT. November 16: Group warn against corrupt practices not in compliance with the Electoral Act. Patriotism Advancement and Community Orientation Network (PACON), a non-governmental organization on Monday, 9th September, 2019 has warned against corrupt practices during the conduct of the gubernatorial election in Bayelsa and Kogi state respectively. The Convener, Mr. Aluzu Ebikebuna Augustine made this known while addressing newsmen in yenagoa. The group says it will not tolerate any act of malpractice during the forthcoming gubernatorial election scheduled to hold November 16 in Bayelsa and Kogi state. NIGERIAN POLICE OFFICER GABRIEL SELEKERE GOES AMOK, HARASS AND INTIMIDATES RESIDENTS OF AKENFA COMMUNITY We have received reports of gross human right violation, abuse of office and act unbecoming of a public officer against one CSP Gabriel Selekere resident at Akenfa 3 community of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.  Mr. Gabriel Selekere has continued to act out of order and continued to harass and intimidate his neighbors and residents around Akenfa 3 community, including the Paramount Ruler of the community who tried to intervene and caution the unwholesome acts of Mr. Gabriel Selekere, a former DPO of Patani division of the Nigeria Police Force, currently working with the Rivers State Command of the force. Aniso Abraham Chairman of Liberation Movement political party has lauded the successful conductor of the party's primary election that produced the party's gubernatorial flag bearer for the Bayelsa State Governorship election coming up on the 16 of November, 2019. The exercise which saw the emergence of Mr. Vijah Opuama as the political party's consensus candidate was peaceful, yet event-filled.
