Members of Community Center International (CCI) pay Courtesy Call on His Royal Majesty, King Bubaraye Dakolo at his office the Bayelsa State Council of Traditional Rulers
The State Executive and Local Government Chairmen of Community Centre International (CCI), paid a courtesy Call on the Chairman, Bayelsa State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM. King Bubaraye Dakolo, at his office, today 13th of July, 2022 to congratulate him on his emergence as the Chairman of the Council and to crave his indulgence to support their Aims and Objectives as an organisation.
In a brief presentation by the Bayelsa State Chairman of CCI, Apostle Kiyaramo Timiebi, he said the organisation has two main objectives, which is;
1. To promote Human Capacity building and Empowerment
2. To promote Good Governance and Community Development.
He added that Traditional Rulers are the fathers of the community and no well meaning organisation can thrive without identifying with the host community leaders. That is why he has led the delegation to visit the number traditional ruler of the Bayelsa State domains.
Also commenting on the ocassion, Prof. Prosper Ayawei, the National Programmes director of Community Center International (CCI) added that CCI has come a long way. He said CCI which was founded sometime in 1992 has been part of several initiatives aimed at adding value to the Bayelsa State and Nigeria through laudable projects through advocacy, partnership and Community Development tools like Monitoring and Evaluation.
In his reply, the King replied that he is pleased with the delegation and their mission. He commended the lofty vision and mission of the organisation, and wished them well in their endeavors. He added that charity begins at home, and he wants the group to consider looking inward to address the challenges bedevilling the State and country from inwards. He said the character and attitude of today's society has serious moral decadence, and the people are now living as paupers in the face of plenty due to lack of direction. He said that the oil politics of Nigeria has left the region with less than desired, so it is up to the people to brace up and take the step towards their own social, economic and financial freedom.
The high point of the ocassion was the presentation of the book;
_'The Riddle of the Oil Thief_ '
to the organisation as a sourvenir from the Chairman.
The meeting came to a close after a brief photo session with a cross section of members of the organisation with the Monarch.
